Amer Fort
Amber Fort is situated 11 km from Jaipur. It was once the earliest capital of Jaipur State. Raja Man Singh, the Rajput chief of Akbar's army initiated the construction of the fortress palace was in 1592. The Amber fort was later extended and completed by the Jai Singhs. Perched on a hillside and overlooking a lake, which reflects its terraces and ramparts, the fort is an exceptional example of Rajput architecture.
The image of the Amber Fort is marvelously reflected in the lake below. Within the Fort lies the renowned Jai Mandir (Temple) with its world distinguished Sheesh Mahal, a hall full of Mirrors.
The walls and the ceiling of the Mahal are covered with a gorgeous array of mirrors, which reflect any streak of light, so as to illuminate the entire room.
The grand Amber Fort flaunts a history as old as 7 centuries, this place vibrates with its legendry past, in the archaeological history.
The fort has 4 sections, each with the premises, and one has to climb up through the striking stairway or else the broad aisle, where one can ride on the elephant back for imperial feel.
